After High School Lea (Thomas) Farmer

Well….it’s long…I will spare boring details. Hahah

After high school I went to OCC. I had no clue what I wanted to do.  I just floated through it. Finally…I took a geography class and it seemed to me…that was all I wanted to study. After what seemed like FOREVER I finally transferred to Cal State Fullerton. It was at that point I started to LOVE going to school.

In 2000 I started working with my mom at her company Star West MFG. I did all the secretarial work. It was a good gig for school. I could leave when I wanted and I worked for my mom. My life was work, school, boys, and the karaoke bar. ;o)

Karaoke Bar....Great look for me....hahah.

In November 2004 I went on my first big trip. I got on a plane, all by myself, and was headed for England. One of my very good friends Louise was already out there visiting her family with her daughter Emma. I decided to meet up with them and stay at Louise’s parents house for 10 days. My first night there I was at the local pub with Louise playing cards with some other people. A guy walked in. Shaved head….black jacket…I thought he was much older than he actually was. Progressively through out the night we started to get more flirty. He was fun. I didn’t think anything of it. Through out the course of the next 10 days my gut was telling me this guy was it. The one for me. For once…my gut was right.

July 2005 with our brother

June 2007

February 2005 my mom passed away. It was rough. I had to step up to the plate at work and start taking care of all the things my mom used to take care of. I promised her that I would never let her hard work go to waste. So when the new boss came in…I of course stayed while the rest of the family bowed out. My boss calls me the glue of the company. I hate being called that. Although a compliment….it makes it feel like it is impossible to leave.

May 2006. My honey comes in for a visit. I’m sitting at the computer in our hotel room…studying hard for my mid-terms. All of a sudden a hand pops out in front of my computer screen. It was a little red box. He says “I know you like surprises”. He asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes. With my excitement I went to the window and started screaming…”I’m engaged!” of course…you guys know me….so my arms are literally spazing out. The ring goes flying off my finger and down two stories into the bushes (or so I thought). After much crying and sobbing and hotel employees trolling in the bushes with me…the ring was found on the pavement, in a crack…total miracle.

May 2007 Alex came to stay for a few months. I graduated from Cal State Fullerton. We got married at the court house in July. He had to fly back to England, but he came back in October. We had our big little BBQ wedding in a park in November on our 3 year anniversary and we’ve never been apart longer than a week since.

And here we are…happily ever after!
